Professional CGMS
DTC offers patient trials of Dexcom & Abbott Freestyle Libre continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGMS). This allows the patient and physician to assess glucose for 72+ hours straight. Patients who are interested in a personal Dexcom can also try it out before purchasing their own personal device.

Personal CGMS
Personal CGMS training is provided in office for those on the Dexcom & Enlite CGMS. Our diabetes educators teach you how to program, wear, & interpret this novel device. A personal CGMS allows you to see your blood glucose in the moment, where blood glucose is heading, & trending. Please note, in the event that your physician orders your CGMS, you will be asked to complete training in house prior to your CGMS being sent home with you.

At DTC, our Certified Pump Trainers (CPT) educate patients in the office on a variety of pumps including Animas, Medtronic, Omnipod, Tandem, & VGo. We offer pre-pump, pump initiation, & pump follow-up consults to best meet your pump needs. The CPT and your physician work together to assure your optimal insulin pump experience. Please note, in the event that your physician orders your insulin pump, you will be asked to complete training prior to your pump being sent home with you.

Our in-house dietitians & certified diabetes educators provide diabetes self-management, medical nutrition therapy, support, & education to those with diabetes, pre-diabetes, gestational diabetes, diabetes in pregnancy and endocrine disorders such as thyroid disorder & obesity. Personalized meal plans & education are created just for you and your dietary needs. Diabetes self-management includes learning what diabetes is & how it affects the body, blood glucose monitoring, treatment of hyperglycemia & hypoglycemia, diabetes meal planning, carb counting, insulin therapy education, & complication prevention.

Bone Densitometry scans, also sometimes known as DEXA scans, are the most accurate way to diagnose osteoporosis and osteopenia. All of our physicians have been trained as Clinical Densitometrist, meaning they have gone through extensive training in how to read and interpret DEXA scans. DTC is able to offer our patients this comprehensive assessment on-site, a luxury many Endocrinologists cannot offer.

Each of our physicians has a dedicated Thyroid Ultrasound making access extremely available during your regular appointment time. Additionally, each of our partner physicians has received the prestigious designation as ECNU, or as having received an Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound. DTC has also received National Certification as an Accredited Ultrasound Practice in the area of Dedicated Thyroid/Parathyroid Ultrasound by the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine. Diagnostic and monitoring ultrasounds may be performed at your appointment for the management of your endocrine condition.

DTC’s physicians are specially trained to perform fine needle aspirations and biopsies in the clinic with or without ultrasound guidance. After a biopsy is performed, your physician may check for cell adequacy and perform the staining of the slide on site prior to sending the sample to a preferred pathologist. DTC has established excellent relationships with their preferred pathologist who they trust to interpret your biopsy sample.

DTC offers on-site radioactive iodine (I-131) for patients for the treatment of both thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism. Due to the extensive certification and monitoring required of physician radiation programs, this is another service offered on site by DTC that many endocrinologist outside of a hospital setting are unable to offer their patients.
