Sara Matani, MD
Dr. Matani’s journey began in Amman, Jordan, where she discovered an early passion for aiding others. This inherent desire to help eventually led her to rank 5th among thousands of high school students and secure a full tuition scholarship at the University of Jordan, setting her on the path to becoming a medical professional. In 2012, she graduated from medical school as one of the top 10 students.
She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. During her residency, she was a member of a co-resident team that represented the state in the National Medical Jeopardy competition, achieving a spot in the semi-finals. In 2017, Dr. Matani moved to Illinois to pursue a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
Following her training, she worked at Hattiesburg Clinic in Mississippi, dedicating three years to serving underserved communities and helping to improve the lives of those often overlooked.
In 2023, a new chapter unfolded as Dr. Matani, along with her husband, Dr. Tamer Hudali, and young son, Adam, relocated to Fort Worth. This move was driven by a desire to be closer to family and friends. Joining DTC in May 2023, Dr. Matani found herself pursuing her passion for diabetes care and helping patients with other hormone disorders. Her approach emphasizes not only medical treatment and prevention but also the value of learning from patients, recognizing that their daily experiences provide insights that textbooks may overlook.
Beyond her medical role, Dr. Matani enjoys jogging and exploring Texas cities with her family. Her love for art, music, and design as highlighted by her 2nd place win in the painting competition of the American College of Physicians, reveals her appreciation for the beauty in life.
