Lisa was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She attended Texas Christian University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication in 2004 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2008.
She spent her nursing career on the Progressive Care and Surgical Stepdown units at Baylor All Saints Hospital. Spending time caring for her patients made her realize she wanted to help prevent people from being hospitalized in the first place. She went on to obtain her Master of Nursing from the University of Texas in Arlington in 2014 and became an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner.
After practicing Preventive Medicine in Dallas for several years, Lisa joined the DTC family in June 2022. She chose endocrinology because she enjoys helping patients manage their conditions and improve their quality of life. She believes that patient education is key to successful practice and strives to provide thorough teaching to empower patients to achieve their best possible outcomes and to have an active voice in their treatment plans.
When not working, she enjoys reading, gardening, and cooking. She also loves to travel as much as possible with her family.
