Born and raised in the Philippines, Joy Jereza De Guzman has always demonstrated a passion for learning and excellence. She graduated as the class salutatorian of La Consolacion School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating Cum Laude from the University of St. La Salle. Her career began with volunteer work as a community health nurse before joining Sanofi-Synthelabo, where she transitioned from sales to product management. Joy played a key role in marketing pharmaceutical products like Cordarone (amiodarone), Modalim (ciprofibrate), and Aprovel (irbesartan).
In 2003, Joy moved to Fort Worth, Texas, with her husband, George, and their daughter, Gia. They soon welcomed their second daughter, Gionna. Over the next 11 years, she worked as a Gyn-Oncology/Mother-Baby/Postpartum nurse at Texas Health Resources Hospital and Baylor All Saints Hospital Fort Worth, gaining invaluable experience in women’s health.
Joy pursued advanced education at the University of Texas in Arlington, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and was inducted into the prestigious Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. She began her FNP career at Family Medicine Associates in Cleburne and later joined Texas Health Family Care Southwest, where she has provided nearly a decade of exceptional primary care to families. For Joy, healthcare is not just a profession but a privilege, and she is dedicated to helping patients achieve better health and improved lives through compassionate, quality care.
Joy and George are now enjoying life as pseudo-empty nesters, with their daughters living part-time at home. Outside of work, Joy enjoys watching science documentaries, traveling, reading, baking, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with family and friends.
